Teaching Statement

My first goal in my classroom is to always keep the environment uplifting and fortifying. I want students to leave my room feeling confident in themselves and the choices they choose to make every day. I try to present them with challenges that they have no doubt that they can overcome and complete by bringing them confidence while they try to overcome these battles.. My method of teaching involves different styles of choreography and offering different ways to move the body that my students may not have thought of before. Confidence, discipline, enthusiasm, and humor are characteristics of my teaching style. 

I believe that students learn the best from someone who knows what they are talking about. I will always give my students all of my knowledge on any topic to help them fully understand the concept. During class that means students will be using their critical thinking skills while learning hands-on and with each other. I love using the tool of classroom discussion and giving everyone a chance to share their ideas and thoughts on the idea. As much as my students learn I also want to continue to learn so they can continue to learn from me. I am always trying out new technique styles so I can then share them with my students. 

A teacher's love and passion for dance is one hundred percent reflected in their students and I always want my kids to feel passionate and confident in anything they are learning.
